The club was formed in 1975.
The 18-holes measured 6399 yards par 72, designed by Fred Hawtree. The undulating course made its way through the mature trees which once formed part of the old Keele Hall Park with views of the Staffordshire Moorlands in the distance.
The professional was Jon Kirk.
In 2014 a deal to save the course collapsed – leaving the future in doubt
The members made valiant efforts to keep the club going but it finally closed in 2015.

Note: In 2013, legendary golfer Ian Woosnam attempted to set up his first golf academy, it was envisaged that students would be able to study at either Keele University or one of the local colleges, whilst going through the golf academy. All seemed positive, but the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.
